I often see questions from people who are unhappy with the way Yahoo treats questions and answers. Especially in the political arena!
Most often this is because of the reporting system in use here that relies on users to report questions or answers that they feel violates some of the TOU or guidelines of Y!A. Many "reports" are of course based entirely on an emotional response to what may be an inflammatory statement.
So, if there were a similar alternative site that had more human moderation and placed less weight on user reports, would you use it?
If there were a real alternative to Yaho answers, would you use it?
Absolutely. There are some really good people here with good intentions, and Those are the people who make Yahoo answers work. Unfortunately, I think what gets "reported" sometimes is not just. If a question or an answer "violates community guidelines," it's okay, but it seems to me that the deciding factor is based on the user and not the Yahoo staff that (should) regulate reports.
To me, this is just a fun way to help answer other peoples' questions and ask questions. If I get a violation notice, I literally LOL! (because of some of the real "bad" stuff that gets posted and never addressed).

A method to seperate the wheat from the chaff. Good questions can be found on the site but there are many questions not worth responding due to their very nature.

So, this was the only alternative.

Yes using the mail box link it does sign you out of mail.Same as if you go to messenger it will sign you out too.That's why i don't use those links.Just go to the sites the way you used to with shortcuts or toolbar.

Reply:If you think you were unfairly deleted, then appeal. Yahoo will correct if an error has been made. But you know it's a really fine line and that's the problem with allowing a bunch of teenagers to report the community.
I realize most Muslims think that anything negative about islam is an automatic insult and worthy of deletion, but that's not true. If what has been said is accurate and can be proved, then the truth is not an insult or a violation.

It all depends on how you use the system, since there is no order amongst you all, it shows then how the system is used and how it will then react.

How do I delete the searches made on the yahoo search drop down that list all searches made on the net by yaho
IE6: Tools %26gt; Internet Options %26gt; Content %26gt; AutoComplete %26gt; Clear Forms. This will clear out ALL your autocompleted forms, such as search windows, form fill-ins, etc. You can also reset your Auto-Complete options here. Other browsers have something similar, you just need to find it!
Or, to delete just a single (or a few) searches, just have them highlighted in the drop-down list and hit DELETE -- they will vanish! If you hold down the key, the whole drop-down list of searches will delete.

if you are meaning the list that expands, (directly above your friends list) where it has the rotating text "Type a Yahoo! ID" or "Type an email address" or "Type a mobile number" then try the following if you dont wish to remove all your cache contents, some of which are quite helpful....
the only way I know of is clearing the entire list (rather than individual ID's listed) is to pop into your Yahoo! Cache directory located at....

you can delete the entire contents of the Cache folder (which will remove it) or you can delete just the conversation history list.
it's going to depend on if you have logged in using one default ID or mutilple ID's, if one then there will be one file, if multiple, then there will be multiple files... one for each ID you have used

if you are meaning the list that expands, (directly above your friends list) where it has the rotating text "Type a Yahoo! ID" or "Type an email address" or "Type a mobile number" then try the following if you dont wish to remove all your cache contents, some of which are quite helpful....

hi, when i go to the yahoo finance page and click on the s and p 500 and try to click a 3 month interactive graph i get a error message that says no data avalable for requested time range and no graph comes up. this has been going on for weeks. the graph works on every pc that I try but i am using a mac. All good companies will shut down that particular email account . Note that the reply to line in the header may not be the same as the senders address due to them attempting to conceal the source of the mail , and any link in the mail itself may read differently than the reply to line in the header, again in an attempt to conceal their real identity. There are many sites with advice on handling these fraudsters, just search the net using terms such as "419 scam" . Good Luck.....and again, NEVER give out your personal info to these people.

I've got a great idea. Stop using IE. Use Firefox. firefox is more secure, reliable and faster. It will not give u stupid errors because it does not use microsofts weak Security Certificates or insecure and unreliable ActiveX controls.

Do NOT reply to that e-mail! Yahoo! (nor any legitimate company) will EVER ask you for your password. I would forward the email to abuse@yahoo.com immediately! Unfortunately, a lot of people do not know this, and hackers are collecting information from people to access their accounts fraudulently. I receive tons of emails like that too, so it's pretty common. I hope this helps you!

Do NOT reply to that e-mail! Yahoo! (nor any legitimate company) will EVER ask you for your password. I would forward the email to abuse@yahoo.com immediately! Unfortunately, a lot of people do not know this, and hackers are collecting information from people to access their accounts fraudulently. I receive tons of emails like that too, so it's pretty common. I hope this helps you!

there seemed to be a little glitch before i tried signing in to my other yahoo... And I was using correct info, but mde me keep trying it %26amp; trying it, til I was locked out. Can I get it back, somehow. I wish I could retreave it, again.

I don't think yaho personals is worth the money, or any money for that matter.
They con you in for a "Bargain" deal and when you realize it doesn't work and your pc isn't cactus after all, it lets you leave in 3 months.
If you leave within your first week it doesn't refund for the two months unused.
There is no way enough people to warrant the fee amount if any. I have hidden my real email address to show im not doing this for points, im just pissed off.

Then again, you can be certain that the winning millions DO NOT exist.
Big ongoing CON usually set up by Nigerians, Who else would think White people are stupid ?

CAN NOT FIND SERVER: Go to Tools, Internet Options and on the general tab, Delete Cookies. That should do it for you!
Other Problems:
I believe it will solve most all the problems people are having if you Switch Back to Original Mail, until it is out of the TESTING STAGE. Please try it and if it doesn't solve your problem just SWITCH BACK TO BETA MAIL!!!

It was kind of funny because a lot of people posted questions like "What's going on?" or "Where is my question?" or "How come no one answsered my question?" or "How come there are no new questions for me to answer."
It turned out that all the questions (plus the questions about the questions not showing up) all appeared magically on the screen 30 minutes later and most of the questions had 0 answers because they were buried lower in the list.

They take quite awhile for mine to upload, too. However, they do upload. I'm sure that you are doing it correctly. Going to the Add Photos button and "browsing" for the photo that you would like to add. I open up a different window because I am a really impatient person, I used to just give up because it would take so long.
Do something else for a bit. I'm sure that you are doing it the right way.

If you are trying to get to your Yahoo Beta Mail with any browser and getting a "Page Not Displayed" or similar message or errors, unfortunately there is not a simple solution.
A month ago or so I was experiencing similar problems. I tried every answer people had posted and nothing worked. I had cleared the cache and history, booted into SafeMode with networking to clear all temp files and still couldn't fix the problem.
Because Yahoo Mail Beta is beta software (almost but not quite ready for prime time) they help very little with it. Beta software is basically in testing mode. I'm sure Yahoo is using Answers to guage how well the software is working. Many people post their issues here so they get a good bug report of the software. But, since it is Beta, they have no solutions. They will simply try to fix these bugs when Beta goes into production for everyone.
With all of that said, last month I finally had a chance to switch back to the original version and all is fine now. You cannot change back to the original w/o accessing beta first. I had to do it late at night when Beta was fully working for me at home to find the link to switch back. The link is there close to your user name AFTER you successfully login to your Beta account.
There is a site you can access to check your Beta mail if you keep getting Page Not Displayed or a blank screen. It is basically text only, but at least you can check your mail. Here is the link: http://wap.oa.yahoo.com
Oh yes, for all of the people posting that Yahoo phone number for support, it does cost $29.95 to speak to a live person.

I don't think that you can. I have had problems with Yahoo from past to present and I had absolutely no way to contact customer support for anything. One of the more recent downloads I had a problem with signing into Yahoo messenger. I only got to click on sign in problems and somehow it got resolved. Sent no email, recieved no email. I honestly don't think there is a way, if anyone could contact the yahoos at yahoo, they would never have enough time to answer all the questions.
