If there were a real alternative to Yaho answers, would you use it?

I often see questions from people who are unhappy with the way Yahoo treats questions and answers. Especially in the political arena!





Most often this is because of the reporting system in use here that relies on users to report questions or answers that they feel violates some of the TOU or guidelines of Y!A. Many "reports" are of course based entirely on an emotional response to what may be an inflammatory statement.





So, if there were a similar alternative site that had more human moderation and placed less weight on user reports, would you use it?

Absolutely. There are some really good people here with good intentions, and Those are the people who make Yahoo answers work. Unfortunately, I think what gets "reported" sometimes is not just. If a question or an answer "violates community guidelines," it's okay, but it seems to me that the deciding factor is based on the user and not the Yahoo staff that (should) regulate reports.


To me, this is just a fun way to help answer other peoples' questions and ask questions. If I get a violation notice, I literally LOL! (because of some of the real "bad" stuff that gets posted and never addressed).

No Censorship by liberal leaning censors or Venues where Party Discussions were open and free wheeling.


A method to seperate the wheat from the chaff. Good questions can be found on the site but there are many questions not worth responding due to their very nature.

Frankly my biggest beef with this answers community is the amount of questions that are asked but never resolved...

Reply:I would use it in a minute. Especially if it offered adult usership. While trolls need to be controlled, the persecution that Yahoo allows with their reporting system is a joke. I would really like an adults only site.
Reply:Yes. I used to use that website called "Ask Jeeves" and now they've turned it into a search engine (ask.com).





So, this was the only alternative.





I agree that the report system is too strict. Reminds me of tattle tells back in elementary school.

Reply:Absolutely with out a doubt with out question. I am tired of the fishing expeditions of past questions that get "reported" well after the question is posted. I have appealed to no avail many times and tired of it.
